A year ago, I started a journey that not only transformed my body but reshaped my life. In just 12 months, I lost 100 pounds—and now, a year later, I’m proud to say I’ve kept it off. Here’s how I achieved it, who inspired me along the way, and why hiking, walking, and Nutrisystem became my winning combination.
The Turning Point
Every journey begins with a first step, and mine was deciding to make my health a priority. I wanted a lifestyle that felt sustainable and enjoyable, not just a quick fix. That’s when I paired walking and hiking with Nutrisystem’s tailored meal plans, which made the process of eating healthier so much simpler.
Falling in Love with Movement
Hiking changed everything for me. It wasn’t just about burning calories—it was about connecting with nature and discovering a joy for movement that I never knew I had. What started as short walks turned into weekends on the trail, exploring breathtaking landscapes and challenging myself in new ways.
My Biggest Inspirations
This journey wouldn’t have been the same without the incredible people whose videos inspired me along the way. Hiking Dancer, AKA Roadrunner, showed me what it looks like to approach life’s challenges with boundless positivity and determination.
Boujee from Life is Boujee, reminded me to enjoy every step of the journey and embrace adventure with an open heart and God's guidance.
Bossbae and Birdcall for their determination, incredible artwork, and writing. I am thoroughly enjoying their latest book, a Field Journal of their 2024 thru-hike of the Pacific Crest Trail.
Their stories and videos were like a guiding light, motivating me to push through the tough days.

Keeping the Weight Off
One year later, I’m proud to say that not only did I lose 100 pounds, but I’ve also kept it off by sticking to the habits I’ve grown to love. Hiking and walking are more than workouts—they’re a part of who I am now. And Nutrisystem helped me stay on track with balanced meals that supported my active lifestyle.
My Advice to You
If you’re considering starting your own journey, my best advice is this: don’t be afraid to take that first step, no matter how small it may feel. Find a community that inspires you, whether it’s friends, family, or even online mentors. And most importantly, find activities that you genuinely enjoy—it makes the process feel like a reward, not a chore.
A Special Thanks
I can’t wrap up this story without giving a huge shoutout to my local walking friends—our little crew who braves all kinds of weather together, from blazing sunshine to relentless rain.

You’ve been my rock (and occasionally my comic relief!) on this journey.
While none of you have trial names yet, trust me, we’re working on it!
Thank you for every mile, every laugh, and every moment of encouragement.
Here’s to new adventures and the transformative power of one step at a time.
See you on the trail!
